Allyson Healey's life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.
A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the “accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know.
My opinion: ♥♥♥♥♥
This Book is just perfect. I read it in 2 days bc it was so captivating. I really like the beginning because in my opinion it's different than in other love stories. The thing with the trip is a nice idea. From the first moment I was in the book and I felt like I'm Allyson and Willem took my hart away as fast as possible. He has a nice character. Personally I would have never made this trip. I mean she does't know him and without this acknowledge going a trip with him? But I can comprehend her decision. Her Mother always plans her life even the tiniest detail so Allyson does't have the chance to do what she want. She isn't free. So if I'm her and have this chance to visit the city I like most I would have decide like her. Why not do this? Why don't have fun?
She definitely has fun. She feels so lucky and doesn't matter that the trip isn't planed. For the first time in her life she is free. And for herself it does't feel real. She feels like another person. Lulu. I think this trip is important for her whole life. If she would't have made it she probably wouldn't have chose the subjects she likes and wouldn't have met the love of her life. The day they both spend together is so nice. They both try to make each other happy. Willem is the reason for the trip and payed most of it and Allyson sacrifices the rest of her money to make this boat trip Willem would like. It's just so romantic. I like the way Willem creates his trips. I think I will try this when I'm old enough to travel alone. Don't plan. Let accidents and coincidences create your trip and most important: have fun. I can comprehend that Allyson is sad after the day and her mother isn't very helpful. I don't like her. Why can't she let her child a bit free space? I would go berserk. The thing that she choose other subjects is an important action. She gets back in her life, gets more self-confidence and turns against her mother. She finally makes a trip alone. And this trip is also important for her whole life.
You should definitely read this book♥
